Not so new, sauna culture.

Sauna for All. Wellness should be for everyone. We're building sauna experiences that are inclusive, affordable, and easy to fit into your week.

Meet the Founders

Badhus started with a feeling — that Amsterdam was ready for a different kind of sauna. Not a luxury spa. Not a gym add-on. A real, social, outdoor place to sweat, cool down, and be together.

Julie caught the bug in Copenhagen, where winter bathing is just what people do. She tested the idea as a small pop-up at Café de Ceuvel in 2022. It sold out immediately.

Max came from a completely different world — investment — but fell in love with sauna culture while working with Oslo Badstuforening. He even helped build one in Belgium before deciding to start his own.

A coffee turned into a partnership. With help from their friend Joel and the team behind Klaproos, they turned an old warehouse behind Café Soleil into what Badhus is today.

If you come for a session, chances are you'll bump into one of them. Say hi.

Badhus has always been more than a place to sweat — it's a community, and that community runs deeper than you might think.

Behind the scenes, nearly 100 volunteers, hosts, and sauna masters show up to make this place what it is. They're the reason Badhus exists the way it does today. In return, we offer a free monthly membership — and more than that, we make space to actually connect. Every month we come together to explore a different sauna somewhere in the Netherlands; a chance to swap stories, share a bench, and get to know the people behind the practice.

It's one of our favourite things we do.
